Choosing The Right Event

It is important to choose the right event for many reasons, for example: 

• Choose team building events that have some relation to the jobs your people do. Intellectual challenges i.e. orienteering might suit those who have a strategist's mind. Machinery sales forces might want to do a team building event i.e. JCB racing which involves using big machinery.

• Consider whether your workforce is up to doing physical challenges. Rambo style activity days are often unsuitable. If you have to push them into doing it, it probably won't work.

• If you have a workforce which doesn't know each other, pick a team building event which literally brings them together in large numbers: not, for instance, a driving day because that tends to single people out.
